Tutorial: How to make curtains hung by clips

For my day job, I work as a social media editor and home improvement blogger for a daily newspaper.

In April the Home & Garden section always features a Spring Around the House series, so I’m putting together a few tutorials on easy home decor sewing projects that are designed for beginners.

The video above is the first of those projects on how to make curtain panels that are hung by clips. I like the look of the clips because the curtain hangs very nicely giving it a smooth, clean look as opposed to the bunchy gather of a traditional rod pocket.

The math is simple and the seams are straight, so any quilter can make these. I also teach you how to sew a blind hem stitch in this video. That was a stitch I was pretty excited to learn, because now I can hem my own pants and skirts, something that is very important for a 5′ 2″ gal like me.
