March Block of the Month

The March block by itself really isn’t all that exciting, but it makes an excellent cornerstone for the center medallion, which we are also putting together this month.

So grab your rotary cutter and let’s get started because there is a lot to do this month. The blocks themselves are pretty easy. You’re making four, four-patch units, then the rest of the block goes together log cabin-style with black squares and rectangles. That’s what makes the negative space at the corners of the center medallion.

Then in the video tutorial accompanying this pattern I offer you tips and tricks on how to pin your blocks in order to get perfect joins whether your seams abut nicely, are both pressed in the same direction and are bulky or form the point of a triangle. There are HD close-ups of me pinning and sewing the blocks so you can follow along at home.

This is one of my favorite months because you really get a big wow factor when that quilt center goes together. It is very exciting. Next month we’ll start working on the pieced border and then we’ll work our way out to the corners.

  1. I am so excited to make this beautiful quilt! Did I miss a pattern? I have January and March…where did I lose February???

  2. Just wanted to say again how much I am enjoying this BOM! You are certainly right when you talk about the WOW factor after sewing all the current blocks together. So glad you are doing this, thanks again!!!

  3. Am really enjoying this. Probably the first time I have ever kept up with a BOM. Can’t wait until April to see the next installment!

  4. I’ve tried to register for your site. Not sure if my registration made it…. As I am unable to log in….or get page not found!!!!

    1. Priscilla,

You did create a login and I emailed you with some info on how to get on. The page not found is because there’s so much traffic right now you all are breaking my site! I was just on the phone with my hosting company to fix it. Please reply to my email if you continue to have issues.

  5. I got in the site yesterday and printed off all patterns except March. I have forgotten my username to get back in the site. Is there a place I can find/change it or can you send it to me. Thanks so much. JoAnn

  6. just getting the hang of your site but can’t figure out how to get these free patterns. I click on it and the first one I clicked said add to cart and I did but I can’t find the add to cart for the other ones. Is there a way to click on more than one per page or do I have to go back and forth for each pattern? Also if it is free do I have to put all the billing info in?

  7. It is a lot to go through when you’re getting started mid-year. That’s why I created a bundled product so you can add all the patterns that have been released to date to your cart with one click. Just click here to get to the bundled product: https://www.quiltaddictsanonymous.com/product/9094/.

As far as the billing info, I use WooCommerce for my checkout system. It is a leading online store system for WordPress, but I don’t have any control over what is required for billing information for checkout. A custom solution would be in the neighborhood of $20,000 and I definitely wouldn’t be able to give patterns out for free. I can promise you that I don’t do anything with the information, I will never share or sell it and my website is monitored 24/7 by security software to keep your info safe. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at stephanie@quiltaddictsanonymous.com.
