Quilting wavy lines and outlining with rulerwork – Ultraviolet

Sometimes you’ve got to get a quilt done FAST, and that was the case with Ultraviolet our latest Stashin’ with Stephanie quilt. I lost half a day to a surprise root canal and had to scrap my original plans for a super custom finish.

But I was able to create some fabulous texture both in the diamond blocks and the background pieces by creating some radiating wavy lines.

In today’s vide I show you how I outline the block using rulerwork, use piecing to create evenly spaced wavy lines and travel to the next block when your quilt doesn’t follow a traditional setting.

I’m working on my longarm, but you could use these same techniques on your home sewing machine as well.
