Welcome to our Intro Free Motion Quilting series! We are so excited about this course so we can help give you the confidence to finish your quilts yourself on your home sewing machine or longarm.
Today we are using the simplified swirl meander as a a background filler. I did mine on a fairly small scale so it would tamp down the background so the block center will be the star of the show later.
I love using different stitches for the background filler and block filler. It really helps define your piecing and make your block shine.
I show you how to plan your path so you can work around your block without missing anything. Nobody wants to backtrack or end up with some weird stitch pattern because you skipped an entire section or didn’t plan your stitching ahead of time.
