Five-hour bed quilt

Five-Hour Bed Quilt by Quilt Addicts AnonymousI’ve got a brand new pattern that is super quick and easy to make. It’s a great quilt to make when you need a distraction from a complicated project, like my Block of the Month, or when you need to whip something up quick for a gift.

The Five-Hour Bed Quilt uses a layer cake and coordinating yardage to essentially make a giant split nine patch. The results are a full-sized bed quilt that you can put together in about five hours. And if you don’t have a full-sized bed, like me, this size quilt makes a great couch throw or you could easily buy an extra couple of yards to add some borders and make it a queen-sized quilt.

This pattern would be great for beginners or advanced quilters looking for a fast project. The instructions feature full-color diagrams, written directions for each step, a layout and assembly guide. You can use the free video tutorial above to help you put this together. And I’m always happy to answer any questions.

One of my favorite things about this pattern, besides how quickly it goes together, is how completely different it looks depending on the fabric choices you use. I’ve included some photos below of an alternate colorway I used as well as the tops my pattern testers created. If you’d like to give it a try, just click here to get your own pattern.

And since I know there are some of you who like to recreate the quilt exactly as it appears in the original pattern, I also have quilt kits available in the Moda Winterberry fabric line. It’s a holiday fabric, so you can start now and definitely have it done in time for Christmas. I just love the modern minty green, red and grey shades in the fabric line.
