How to Make a Pillowcase – Sewing with Kids – featuring the Future Quilter and Ponies

Pillowcases are a great project to sew with kids because they are fast and you can use up some of the fabulous children’s fabrics available.

In this occasional Sewing with Kids series from Quilt Addicts Anonymous, Stephanie Soebbing and the Future Quilter make a unicorn pillowcase with French seams. That sounds fancy, but it actually is a very easy way to make a pillow with enclosed seams without a serger.

To make two matching pillows you will need:
1 1/2 yards of your focus fabric
1/2 yard of the fabric for your sleeve
1/4 of your accent fabric for the flange
Sewing machine
Iron
Ironing board
Pins
Thread
Rotary cutter
Cutting mat
6×24-inch quilting ruler
