Block A Day Challenge round up – Week 1

The Block A Day Challenge got a slow start this week, but the participants have made some good progress. I’ve sewn more blocks for my New York Beauty in one week than I have in the last six months.

Here’s a few of the blocks that were completed this week:

 Block A Day Challenge - January 4

If you’re hesitant to participate because you’re not sure if you’ll be able to sew one block every day of the year, don’t worry. The purpose of this challenge is to encourage you all to take time for yourselves each day and do something you enjoy. If life happens and you can’t make a block one day, that’s OK. I didn’t make one one Tuesday because I didn’t get home until after midnight because I covered the Iowa caucuses for the newspaper I work at.

Also, each point counts as one entry into a drawing for the monthly prize, so all you need to do is post one block to the Flickr group for a chance to win. This month’s prize is three spools of variegated quilting thread.

So get sewing and posts photos of your blocks to the Block A Day Challenge Flickr group. You just might see your block in next week’s round up.
