Best laid plans
Plans are made to be broken and that’s exactly what happened last weekend.
I went to visit my parents for the weekend so my husband could paint the nursery to match the crib quilt I made. But Saturday morning he woke up with the flu. The huddle under five quilts, only get up to go to the bathroom kind of flu.
He was in no condition to paint, so it’s still the same earthy green as when I left. It’s not the end of the world. His work schedule is non-traditional, so he’ll be able to paint while I’m at work one day when he feels better.
But I still had a fabric shipment to look forward to of extra border prints so I could get going on the valances for the windows and crib skirt. The package arrived today and I ripped it open like it was Christmas morning. But instead of the border print I ordered, there were three yards of a red bone fabric that I don’t need. I’m sure it will all get straightened out, but for now, that’s another project delay.
It’s a good thing there’s plenty of time before the baby gets here so we can make a plan B and keep going on our nursery preparations.
