March quilting goals
I feel so behind. Here we are almost a full week into March and I still haven’t set my quilting goals for the month, or sewn a stitch outside of the Block of the Month class I taught last Saturday.
Finish nursery sewing
March is going to be dominated by baby nursery sewing. I’m down to 11 weeks until my due date and am getting antsy about having everything ready. The nursery furniture is arriving this weekend, which means I can get started on the crib skirt. I also have fabric baskets to make and bobby covers.

Cloth diaper assembly line
But the big goal of this month is going to be getting the first size of cloth diapers made. I still need to get signed up, but I’m planning on going to my Guild’s retreat from Friday night through Sunday and just sewing cloth diapers assembly line style the entire time. I need 30 to 36 of the first size, so this is going to be quite a feat to make a dent in this essential getting ready for baby task.
I learned long ago that a successful retreat is dependent on good prep work. That means I should have all the pieces cut for my cloth diapers before I ever leave. That way I can get right down to sewing as soon as I arrive.

QAA BOM
I posted a sneak peak of the March BOM on social media. Next month we’ll be making 20, six-inch blocks. I’d like to have all of them made except what I will need for demonstrations for the video and class done by the end of the month to stay ahead. I’ll also need to make two of the April BOM for display at the quilt shop I teach at.
There’s plenty more I could work on, but I think that is plenty for one month. What are you working on?
Wow you are going to be busy this month. I’m sure you’ll get your goals completed and possibly start something new as well.
My goals for March are as follows: 1. To get binding put on the Feb. ufo quilt that I just got back from the laq. 2. Get borders put on charm pack quilt top (done) and send to the laq. 3. Complete blks for my 2 bom’s (got one done which is your bom). 4. Make a name tag for the Quilt Guild I just joined (got this started). 5. Begin picking out fabrics for my Guild Bingo card so I can let other members know what little color blks I still need so we can trade and not have to buy fabric for 2.5″ blks (completed this and the Bingo card has been made). 6. Get my scrap busting Shoofly quilt top put together, pick out border and see what I can do for backing. 7. Turn another ufo blk into a pillow/mini quilt. 8. Get some baby receiving blankets made for future gifts. I think I have set a lot of goals to complete as well as finish or start for this month.
