Ombre crib quilt top sneak peak
I resisted the very strong urge to start a new project Saturday night and instead finished up the ombre crib quilt top I’ve been working on.
I made it from a Kona Skinny Strip Bundle, the strips are 1 1/2 inches wide instead of 2 1/2 inches like most jelly rolls. The width makes the quilt finish the perfect size for a crib quilt, which is what this quilt is intended for.
I used the classic color scheme, but any would work as long as it is a selection of solids that make a rainbow effect. I think all the color changes will be good for a baby, taking in all the colors for the first time.
To make the quilt, you just unroll the Skinny Strip and sew one right after the other. It goes together very quickly which makes it good for those last minute shower invitations, like the one I got that this quilt is intended for.
I’ve already written a tutorial on how to make this quilt. Just click here to check it out if you missed it.
Hi Stephanie,
Just wanted to leave you a quick thank you note for all your excellently detailed instructions on making a t-shirt quilt. I am about half-way done with my project and your help has been invaluable! I will send you a snapshot when it is done. Thanks again!
Kathy 🙂
