Nightshade: Fat Quarter Pattern Perfect for Too Pretty to Cut Up Fabric!

This month’s new fat quarter friendly pattern is inspired by this month’s featured fabric, Mystic Moon by Studio RK for Robert Kaufman Fabrics.

Nightshade is a perfect pattern to use with too pretty to cut up fabric. The block centers are a perfect candidate for fussy cutting, just make sure you get a few extra fat quarters if you plan to fussy cut.

The strip-pieced block frames make the quilt top assembly go very fast and ample negative space also provides a fun background for interesting quilting choices.

I am absolutely in LOVE with this month’s fabric, Mystic Moon by RK Studio for Robert Kaufman Fabrics. We included enough extra fabric in your finishing kit so you will be able to fussy cut the jewel toned owls to fit in the center of your blocks.

The deep and rich blues, purples and teals are absolutely stunning with modern floral designs, moons and, of course, owls, all outlined with silver metallic.

For the background we are using a Kona Cotton with a silver metallic spray over the top to add to the sparkle. And I can testify that the metallic is still soft and cuddly and quilts up beautifully.

I hope you enjoy this fabric as much as I have creating Nightshade.
