A call for pattern testers

Layer cake

I am working on creating new patterns and am looking for some pattern testers to double check that I’ve gotten everything right before I release them.

I’m looking for experienced quilters who can complete a quilt top within two weeks to a month, depending on the complexity and size of the pattern.

In exchange for testing the pattern, you will receive:

  • A free copy of the pattern
  • A photo of your quilt will be featured on QuiltAddictsAnonymous.com
  • If you write a blog, I will link to it with the photo
  • A $25 gift certificate to Fabric.com

If you are interested in becoming  pattern tester, please email stephanie.soebbing@gmail.com with the subject line: Pattern tester. Tell me a little bit about yourself and how you started quilting and what techniques you are confident in, such as fusible applique, curved seams or paper piecing.

When I have a pattern ready to go, I’ll email everyone who applies to see who is available and interested in testing the pattern. If you’re not into that pattern or too busy, no big deal, I’ll keep you on the list for the next time. Then I’ll choose four testers who are available to try out the pattern.

Thank you in advance for everyone who applies to be a tester. Let’s make some great quilts together!

I have been quilting for about 20 years. Comfortable with piecing and machine applique. Still a paper piecing novice, but willing to try beginners patterns. Never really tried curved piecing.
I will be on vacation till March 21st. Don’t go away often, but couldn’t pass up a trip with my quilting friend!

  12. I am retired and a stay at home wife and grandmother. I do not smoke or drink. I am a seamstress I am a sewer of many years, creator and redesigned pattern years. For years a sewer for my three girls and public sewing. I would love to try my hand at testing your patterns.

  13. I am willing to test out your new patterns. I am always looking for new and interesting patterns to use. I’m not afraid of curved edges, bias edges or a lot of detail! I have done applique with fusible web along with so many other techniques in the 40++ years I have been sewing. (Wow, I didn’t realize it has been that long!! My mom taught me to sew when I was about 12 years old.) I am actually a sewing – quilting and krafting junkie!

  14. I’d be interested in helping should the need arise. I love to quilt and often come up with my own patterns in an attempt to whittle down my stash. 🙂
Please let me know if I might be of assistance!
    Thanks.

I’d love to be a pattern tester….I live in Texas… I’ve been quilting for about 8 years, mostly self-taught…I can do all piecing, applique and love quilting,..I’m available at a moment’s notice, I’ve never been a quilt tester before but I’m always ready to learn something new…thanks for such a great opportunity to help you out.

  17. i feel that I’m very confident in curved piecing, did a quilt with over 1200 pieces last year. Have been sewing for43 years. Can do paper piecing. Not too keen on hand work, have done hexagons by machine. So I will figure out a way to do everything on machine if possible. Would love to give it a try if you select me.
