Prepping Your Quilt for the Longarm – Intro to Free Motion Quilting

Welcome to our Intro Free Motion Quilting series! We are so excited about this course so we can help give you the confidence to finish your quilts yourself on your home sewing machine or longarm.

The series officially starts February 1, but today we’re sharing a video on what you need to know if you are planning on following along on your longarm.

We cover how to mark your quilt on the longarm, extra supplies you might want to have on hand, and the things I do when I am working on a lognarm, that I don’t do on the domestic sewing machine.

We have created four reorderable quilt kits using solid fabrics from Northcott Colorworks. The richly colored fabrics are fabulous to work with, and it will make it very easy to see your stitches and make your stitching the star or the show.

Make sure you grab a stencil kit, which contains the four stencils and pounce pad we are using to learn the four basic stitches. And grab the quilt pattern, which is FREE with the purchase of any Free Motion Quilting Kit.

  1. I am having the hardest time figuring out how to watch your 28 episodes of Intro to FMQ videos. Hard to find. Started watching videos and hitting “next” after each episode; and then it took me to an entirely different video series. Very frustrating. Please advise on how to watch ALL of the free videos. Thank you.
