Super Simple Strip Pieced Modern Quilt Pattern for Big Bold Prints

Learn how to make Stripes, from my first book, “Simple Quilts for the Modern Home.”

Stripes is hands down the easiest and fastest quilt in my book. I literally pieced the entire top in an afternoon. But this quilt always gets lots of ooos and ahhs when I show it in person because my fabric choices make it look like I did a lot more work than I actually did.

That makes this quilt great for when you just need to finish a quilt fast, you want to show off some large modern prints or if you or someone you know is a true beginner and looking for an easy project.

The entire quilt top is strip pieced, so we go over that beginner quilting technique. Plus I show you how to keep everything lined up and how it is sometimes better to press seams to one side instead of open to get a great join.

We had an extremely limited supply of quilt kits for Stripes, and they did sell out pretty quickly. We scooped up the last of the fabric Art Gallery had a few months ago in preparation for this video, and we have made some yardage we have left available on the website which you can find linked below.

This tutorial is meant to be a supplemental guide for people who are visual learners and want to see the quilt being assembled in addition to reading the instructions and assembly diagrams in the book. All of the cutting instructions, yardage requirements and everything else you need to make this pattern are included in “Simple Quilt for the Modern Home”.
