Today I am showing you one of my all time favorite quilting designs, the Interlocking El Dorado from Full Line Stencil. This is one of the easiest feather designs and a perfect one to start with if you are trying to learn how to quilt feathers.
I tried and tried to quilt feathers for years and they never turned out right, but when I tried this stencil I was able to stitch beautiful feathers for the first time. It’s a combination of an easy feather paired with a simple swirl and having a line to follow that makes all the difference.
I continue to go back to this design when I finish my quilts because I love how it looks. We also have a video showing this design on your home sewing machine, but I bought GoPro so we could start showing you some quilting tips and tricks on the longarm as well.
