12 Makes of Christmas Swirls & Curls

I love the Swirls & Curls stencil from Full Line Stencil. The design is really versatile, making it great for lots of quilts, but on holiday quilts it looks like swirling snow!

This stitch is great for someone who has done some free motion quilting, and is ready to try something a little more challenging. There is a tiny bit of backstitching as you travel from swirl to swirl, but if you aren’t perfectly on the original stitching line, just call it a design choice and enjoy your quilt!

If you’ve never used Full Line Stencils before, they’re absolutely fabulous. You use the Pounce Pad to transfer a chalk marking onto your fabric. It’s temporary and wipes away easily. And screen printing-like qualities of the stencil mean you have complete lines to follow, so there’s no guessing where to go next.

I use them all the time whenever I am trying to create a shape that I would have a hard time stitching freehand. The results are always fantastic. If you like this video we have more than a dozen other tutorials using the stencils to inspire you!
