I am in love with the Elly Handbag from Sew Many Creations. This stylish bag is the perfect combination of function and fashion and I walk you through making it step-by-step in today’s video.
It’s got an outside zippered pocket for stashing items you want to keep secure, but accessible. Plus the double zipper adds a fun accent and coordinates with strap anchors for some added flair.
Then we finish off the bag with a recessed zipper top to keep your belongings secure and double pockets on both sides of the lining to hold everything you need to be able to find quickly.
The finished bag measures 11-inches wide and tall by 3-inches deep, so it can really hold a lot while retaining its structure for a more high end look.
We’ve got two kit options for you today, one using Cotton+Steel canvas and cork fabric for the bag bottom. I love this combo because it makes for a very sturdy bag that will hold up very well over time.
We also created a version using my fabric collection Nocturne. We designed the painterly fabrics to be used in bags to mimic the look of cork, without paying the cork price.
The kits include all the fabric, hardware, zippers and interfacing you need to make the project. You just need a coordinating thread.
