I’m going to be totally honest, this isn’t my favorite quilting ever. But I think it’s important to show you when my sewing projects don’t go as planned so you know you’re not alone when it happens to you too.
I wanted to do a swirl design in each and every diamond to help echo the design in the quilting. I’ve used similar approaches in other diamond quilts and the results are always stunning.
But my entire family has COVID, and I had one day when we cleared out Quilt Addicts Anonymous so I could film the quilting tutorial and use the longarm, and I just didn’t have time to make that happen.
So I went forward with my original plan in the background only, and used an all over loopy and daisy meander combo for the diamond portion of the quilt. It’s a great whimsical stitch and looks great on fun and flirty quilts. And while it wasn’t my first choice for this quilt, it does work, and I’m good with it.
