This month’s design, Blooming Star, is one of my favorite kinds of quilts … one that looks like it is a lot harder to sew than it really is. With strip-pieced diamonds and no Y-seams, the top goes together fairly quickly and without a lot of fuss.

With large diamonds, this is a great pattern to show off those “too pretty to cut up prints” so you can let your favorite fabric shine. And that’s perfect for Eden by Sally Kelly for Windham Fabrics. It is filled with lots of large florals that look fabulous on a grand scale.

As usually we walk you through every step of the block construction process. And this month I also cover how to assemble the blocks into rows to create a wedge, and how to join the wedges into a quilt half so you know how to do every step of this quilt construction process.
