This month’s fabric, Impressions by Melissa Marie Collins for Windham Fabrics, is very special. It’s the kind of collection that makes you stop and admire it and it deserved a very special pattern where all its beauty was highlighted.
The pattern I came up with, Interlocking Triangles was inspired by a Frank Lloyd Wright children’s book on shapes
I got for my toddler. The interlocking triangles were just begging to be pulled from the page and turned into a quilt in a design where the fabric is the star of the show.
The result is a quilt that requires a little bit of planning to determine your fabric placement, but is a breeze to sew with no Y-seams and can be completed in a weekend.
A Clearview Triangle Ruler, or a 60-degree ruler with all three points and no blunt tips, is required to create Interlocking Triangles.
