DIY Nesting Baskets Using Foam to Create Structure + FREE PATTERN!

Our partnership with SIY Sew it Yourself is continuing and we’ve got a brand new nesting baskets tutorial with a FREE pattern to share with you today!

SIY is the creation of the Jaftex Family of fabrics, which includes FreeSpirit, Henry Glass, Blank and Studio E. Their mission is to help newbies learn to sew with simple, small projects and give experienced sewers a fast and fun project.

In today’s video I teach you how to make a round nesting basket with handles that has a foam interlining to give it great structure. You’ll learn to:

– Sew in 3D
– Inset a round base
– Grade a seam allowance
– Apply seam binding
– Quilt thick layers

It took me about four hours start to finish including cutting all my materials to make the baskets. So it is definitely an easy weekend project.

We’ve got Kaffe kits available like the ones I show you in the video: https://shop.quiltaddictsanonymous.com/product/round-nesting-baskets-with-handles-kits/

Make sure you also add a half-yard pack of ByAnnie’s Soft and Stable 18″ x 58″ so you have a nice sturdy finished basket: https://shop.quiltaddictsanonymous.com/product/byannies-soft-and-stable-foam-stabilizer/
