It’s Stashin’ with Stephanie time! We’ve got a brand new fat quarter friendly pattern using our latest fabric collection, Weather Report by Wishwell for Robert Kaufman Fabrics.
The last time we featured Wishwell we sold out TWICE of the fabric. I love the digitally printed designs that look like a mix of graffiti and sedimentary rock layers. And the colors are just so rich, the photos do not do them justice.
This month’s pattern Rainfall was inspired by the collection to look like layers of rock and sediment that have shifted and slanted over time. It’s my favorite kind of pattern, one that looks a lot more complicated than it really is.
We’re going to create a simple strip pieced unit, cut it apart and sew it back together on a 45-degree angle with some sashing in between to create the slanted look. Just follow the layout diagram to get everything lined up correctly and square it up when you’re done and you’ll have a fabulous quilt.
