Scrappy Christmas Tree Mug Rug FREE Pattern! – 12 Makes of Christmas

OMG these turned out so cute! You’ll want to dig through your Christmas scraps and make our seventh make of Christmas too.

I just love the Scrappy Christmas Tree Mug Rugs. They were so fast and easy to make. In the video and FREE pattern to go with this project, I show you how to make half square triangles from squares. It’s my favorite method because it is fast and accurate.

From there you’re just playing with fabric to figure out the best scrappy layout and sewing horizontal rows. It’s so easy.

I found it is best to make these in sets of two. That way you don’t have to repeat the half square triangle prints in a single mug rug so you can have a scraptastic creation.

I also show you how I quilted these using the walking foot on my home sewing machine so you can whip these up from start to finish so you can serve Santa his cookies and milk on them this year.

  1. I’m sorry Stephanie, but I give up. I have tried and tried to find the written pattern for the Christmas mug rug with no results. Maybe I can watch the video and try to see what sizes you are using from your cutting mat. So sad.

  2. Would like to download and print the Scrappy Rug pattern, but cannot find it. I tried to buy the item (marked as free) but it insisted on having my card number, which I am not prepared to give.
