Hugs All Around creates a controlled scrappy look by splitting a single collection into three colorways and assembling blocks according to fabric color and value. The result is a quilt that looks scrappy and cohesive for a polished look.
This fat quarter friendly pattern was developed for the Stashin’ with Stephanie Club, a fat quarter subscription club program from Quilt Addicts Anonymous. It was inspired by the bundle mailed to subscribers this month featuring Clara Jane by On The Mark for Cotton+Steel.
Clara Jane is split into three equal colorways for traditional screen printing, each with a dark, medium/dark, medium, light and background fabric.
Hugs All Around uses strip-piecing, corner squares and carefully organized fabric in three different colorways to create a fun “O” or hug block. Scrappy backgrounds, sashing and cornerstones give this quilt a traditional look, with modern flair.
