In this Stashin’ with Stephanie video I show you how to:
– Cut curves using templates
– Mark the curves using your iron so you can pin evenly
– Sew curved seams.
So even if you don’t want to make this quilt, there are lots of good tips and tricks to take your piecing to the next level, so check it out!
In this pattern there are no seams to match when you assemble your rows, so you can just focus on learning to sew curves.
And, this quilt is meant to be scrappy but if you want it to go in color order like mine than you will need a few more fat quarters than what the pattern calls for. For example, I used 14 fat quarters for my throw-sized quilt. I cut everything as I sewed working one row at a time going from the bottom up.
It took a little bit longer, but I love the results and I think they were worth it.
This no-neutral quilt is the perfect quilt to create a scrappy look with using your stash or fat quarter bundle. I used Rhythm by Shell Rummel for FreeSpirit. I just love how the modern coastal print uses color value to create movement in the quilt. Just add binding and backing and you are good to go.
The pattern for this quilt is available in crib, throw (pictured), twin and queen.
