Combining Wavy Lines & Stipple Meander for Custom Quilting

Whenever I get to the quilting stage, my goal is always to accentuate the design of the quilt with my quilting choices.

Sometimes that is a very time consuming process, other times I am able to do that quickly. The latter was the case with this month’s Stashin’ with Stephanie design Vintage Revisited.

I used wavy lines inside the strip-pieced diamonds following the shape of the block to create a series of four diamond waves that help the block stand out.

Then I filled in the background with a medium scale stipple meander to help that fade away so the piecing and fabric can be the star of the show.

I got the entire large twin-sized quilt done in under five hours on my longarm, which just proves that you don’t need to spend hours and hours on quilting to create a custom look.
