If you’ve been watching our quilting videos for any length of time, you know I am a big fan of the wavy line free motion quilting stitch. It is very versatile and can be dressed up or down and can be simplified to cover a quilt densely in a short amount of time.
That is exactly what I needed for Sound Waves. I both wanted to accentuate the up and down lines of the stripes with some organic waves and get the quilting done quickly. I was able to finish the entire twin-sized Sound Waves with a thread change in about three hours.
You’ll be able to watch me as I quilt so you can conquer this easy stitch at home. Plus I talk about how to modify it for the home sewing machine and how I choose thread colors so the piecing is highlighted by your quilting choices.
You can dive deeper into wavy line quilting in our FREE Intro to Free Motion Quilting Series, which has an entire segment on how to use wavy lines to make each quilt unique.
One last note, we never promote Stashin’ with Stephanie in the beginning of the month. But between getting our fabric late, my entire family getting sick and February being a short month, we decided to make an exception.
We are posting this Stashin’ with Stephanie quilting video today because most of our members should have received their bundles by now and we wanted them to be able to have their bundles in hand when they watched it.

But know that your first bundle won’t ship until around April 22. There’s plenty for you to take advantage of in the meantime with exclusive discounts on fabric, including the Sound Waves quilt kit, and tons of free Fat Quarter Patterns.
