April Block of the Month

It’s time for the April Block of the Month release! This month we are starting the pieced border that goes around the center medallion.

We’re making about a million picket fence units. OK, that’s a slight exaggeration. But we only have four small blocks to make next month, so if you’re still working on these when the May tutorial comes out, you won’t be overwhelmed and unable to catch up.

There are nine different fabrics featured this month and the placement of the black triangles is very critical to the overall border turning out right. So make sure you download the free printable instructions and follow them very closely along with the video tutorial to make sure your border goes together right without having to rip seams.

And speaking of downloading, you now can download the instructions right on this website. Just click here, or on the photo below to go to the Patterns section to download your April block. The download is still free, but you will need to enter your billing info when you create an account. That’s so you can log in later and download your block as many times as you need to. All the patterns you download will be saved conveniently under the “My Account” tab. And again, it is all still free.

One last note, I ordered more quilt kits but even those are nearly sold out. There are just four left as I’m typing this and Moda has sold out of the Calypso Batik line. So if you’ve been on the fence about getting a quilt kit, now is the time to buy it, because once they’re gone, there are no more.
