This month’s Stashin’ with Stephanie pattern is fast, fun and 100% of the sales between now and May 15, 2020 will be donated to Ballet Quad Cities.
The ballet company in my town is part of the fabric of our region. They have had to cancel the remainder of their season due to COVID-19. In addition to ballet performances and the school of dance, which our 5-year old daughter attends and loves, they also participate in community outreach for bullying prevention, raising awareness for the 2020 census and much more.
We want to see them and their performers make it through this time, and donating the sales from an easy quilt pattern that looks like it is designed on point … get it? … is a perfect way to do it.
The block technique for En Pointe comes from my good friend Char Thode’s book Nickel Quilts. In the video I show you how to transform two large squares into two half square triangles and two smaller squares very easily and quickly.
The quilt is assembled in horizontal rows, but the modern setting creates the appearance of a quilt that is designed on point. The visual effect is fun, and makes En Pointe look a lot more complicated than it really is.
Plus the video is packed with lots of helpful tips to bring your triangle game to the next level and make sure all those points end up exactly where they are supposed to be.
Happy Quilting.
