I am in LOVE with this month’s Stashin’ with Stephanie design. I actually had something quite different in mind, but when I realized that my original idea would require massive amounts of background fabric, I made the switch to a medallion star design and the results are fantastic!
Sparkle is one big star, and while it looks stunning, it is actually pretty simple to put together. There are NO Y-seams in the quilt, and I break down how to sew your diamond blocks and turn them into easy to assemble wedges that make up the quilt top. You’re going to love it.
The best part is this really goes very fast. I managed to create mine from start to finish in about two weeks including the quilting! And my job entails much more than sewing. In addition to running a business, I also have a six-year-old that we are homeschooling because of the pandemic and a 9-month-old who still nurses every 3 hours day and night. So if I can finish this quickly, so can you.
This month’s quilt uses Thistle Patch by Teresa Magnuson for Clothworks. The purple, greens and charcoals are so pretty and will be a fun distraction from any dreary fall days. And the design splits up the light, medium and dark fabrics, so the light fabrics won’t get lost against the background.
